Northstar Nominated at the Northern Marketing Awards

Last week saw the Northern Marketing Awards take place at the Lancashire Cricket Ground in south-west Manchester. Bringing together the leading marketing companies from across the northern region, Northstar was present due to being nominated for their part in Superglass Insulation’s brand transformation project.

Nominated for the Best Property & Construction Campaign, Northstar was pipped to the post by Everton Football Club & Influentials collaboration as part of the football club’s bid to build a new stadium on Merseyside.

A longstanding Northstar client, Superglass underwent a brand alteration as part of the Stirling-based company’s major investment into their manufacturing plant. As a result, Superglass has been able to significantly increase product quality and output.

Northstar was a major part of this overhaul, adapting the Superglass brand and brand assets, all aspects of Superglass was developed.

“From the product positioning through to packaging, everything was changed to reflect the new thinking that Superglass were implementing.” Northstar Managing Director Glyn Lloyd said, “It was an incredible challenge differentiating the brand in a commodity market, but one I feel that we excelled in.”

Articulating the brand, launching a new website, launching various advertorials and attending packaging exhibitions, Northstar’s campaign set Superglass aside from their competitors.

“We are very proud to be associated with one of the biggest investments in Scottish manufacturing. The work provided us with the freedom to express the qualities of the Superglass brand in a non-stereotypical fashion when compared to the norm in the insulation sector.” Lloyd said.

Working across several industry sectors, Northstar has developed in-depth specialist expertise in building products, home improvements, construction and housebuilding. Superglass has been one of the Manchester-based marketing firm’s longest standing customers.

Having also revolutionised the ways in which Armitage Shanks, Gyproc and Teflon approach their marketing, the Superglass campaign is one that Northstar are most proud of. Implementing phase two of the campaign in 2020, Northstar will integrate into the wider group branding infrastructure.

“What we were most please about was the fact that all elements of the new marketing strategy linked almost seamlessly together. It was amazing. Then, to be told that the campaign in generating sales is even better.”

Having operated since 2001, Northstar offer a wide range of services to clients. Able to create an innovative brand strategy, a new website, media planning/buying and able to offer an insight into creating a successful social media marketing campaign.

“It may seem an obvious thing to say, but just to be thought of for a Northern Marketing Award makes me extremely proud. We have a remarkable team here at Northstar, all of whom are completely committed to the projects they contribute to and without them we wouldn’t be considered for these honours.”
