Making the connection
Hill is a family engineering business specialising in plant equipment. In 2011, they created the innovative TEFRA, which has since become a global success story and the go-to attachment coupler for major excavator manufacturers such as Hitachi, JCB and Caterpillar. But while their products are used on construction sites across the world, Hill still looked like a local business – not a global leader. Time for a change.
Northstar, big on repositioning
We were tasked with giving Hill more of a presence in the global market, and positioning them as innovators and an industry authority. Using our wide-ranging knowledge of construction, we created a new look and feel for the business, which would be carried through a new website and digital communications strategy.

Big. And bold
To make Hill come across as a big player, we literally went ‘big’ – with a series of headlines outlining their credentials, values, innovation and quality, and visuals that used over-sized images and a strong, bold typeface – perfect for the market, and saying a lot more about the business to their audience.

Engineered for product launches
The transformation is moving on at pace, including the launch of new innovations to the market. The new TEFRA Connect hydraulic quick coupler launched in mid-2022, with a marketing campaign and materials that truly reflect what Hill are all about.
